About the degree
We are building a new model for higher education that is interdisciplinary, apprenticeship based, and debt-free. Think of it like ROTC for the private sector.
Here’s what that looks like for a Polymath University student:
3 year degree program, year round academic calendar
Students study 3 different, non-adjacent majors. Think: healthcare administration or cybersecurity, plus economics and philosophy. This degree is no fluff, no electives that you’ll never use. Only courses that make you more valuable for your next chapter.
Hybrid delivery with one week per semester in person, the rest remote and synchronous.
Students earn while they learn, receiving a paycheck in years 2 and 3 for serving as an apprentice with an employer partner of Polymath University. All apprentices are on track for full time employment upon graduation.
Students’ future employer pays for tuition in exchange for a work commitment for two years after graduation. This helps employers fill roles that are hard to fill, and helps students gain access to college.
Cohorts are accepted from the same city. We’ll start with 100 students from the Chicago area so students can build their social and professional networks while earning their degree.
Polymath University will offer an accredited bachelor’s degree. Prior to being awarded independent accreditation, Polymath will partner with an existing university to offer a fully-accredited degree.
