Mission & Guiding Principles
MISSION
Polymath University develops leaders and problem solvers into modern polymaths with full-spectrum curiosity — who are prepared to solve humanity's greatest challenges — through a high-accessibility model.
We Believe
Curiosity is the seed that grows humility, understanding, and innovation. We must water it wherever we find it.
We are building a culture that nurtures generative friction, stressors that produce growth. Our community must welcome discomfort and challenge amid human-centered debate and dialogue.
Exclusivity in education breeds elitism. We will not use a rejection rate as a proxy for quality, but we will be deeply proud of serving the broadest swath of students.
Talent is equally distributed across socioeconomic and racial strata, among other dimensions, and our educational model must serve to bring opportunity all who want it.
Complex problem solving requires leaders who can integrate across disciplines. This skill is built through education and practice.
Coaching and mentoring are a necessary part of quality education. Faculty at Polymath University will coach and mentor students toward learning objectives at an individual level.
Improvement of the human condition requires a willingness to challenge assumptions, and an ability to build support for a minority view.
Technology will augment but not replace the very human activity of teaching and learning. Human skills are deeply needed, and we will not abandon them.
